What is Mediation?
Mediation is a type of ADR, or Alternative Dispute Resolution. In Mediation, the two parties which have a disagreement select a neutral third party to help them come to an agreement. Mediation differs from arbitration in that the mediator still leaves the decision-making power in the hands of the parties, whereas an arbitrator can give a decision for the parties to abide by. The Mediator will typically meet with both parties separately and then all together to try and reach an amicable resolution.
Why Mediate?
Mediation is often required by the courts before the parties can have a trial. Mediation is often a much less expensive and non-combative method of settling disputes than court battles. Mediation can also be tailored to the schedules of the two parties.
David offers mediation appointments during regular business hours, evenings and weekends to accommodate both parties’ schedules.
